Catherine Jacobes
Catherine’s love for all things editorial and passion for books, food, and photography has been the perfect foundation for her career as an art director and designer specializing in lifestyle projects. She’s worked with brands like Macy’s, California Closets, William-Sonoma, Marshall Fields, and Robert Mondavi Vineyards. She’s also designed over 50 books with publishers, including Ten Speed Press, Chronicle Books, Oxmoor House, and Sunset Magazine.
In addition to her publishing work, she also works in marketing communications, creating bold brand experiences, social media, identities, presentations, websites, advertising campaigns, videos, and everything in between.

Steve Siegelman
Steve got his start in the world of food when, at age six, he requested an Easy-Bake Oven for Hanukah and immediately began developing recipes.
Steve has written or contributed to 39 cookbooks. He is the co-author of Firehouse Food: Cooking with San Francisco’s Firefighters (Chronicle Books), and The Pancake Handbook, (Ten Speed Press). Steve wrote the text for Nuts (Ten Speed Press), named Food & Wine’s Cookbook of the Year. He wrote the text for Chevy’s Fresh Mex Cookbook (Ten Speed), which has sold more than 150,000 copies and has written the text for 14 Williams-Sonoma titles, including Entertaining, which won the International Association of Culinary Professionals’ 2005 Best General Cookbook award.
As a VP executive creative director for Ketchum, Steve has developed advertising, marketing and PR campaigns for dozens of national clients including Kikkoman, Mastercard, Nestlé, and California Dairy. His work has won top honors in numerous Mercury, Addy, and Silver Anvil competitions. He currently works with Ketchum on a part-time basis as a creative director.
Steve’s television writing credits have included the PBS American Masters documentary, Jacques Pépin: The Art of Craft. He was the writer for five critically acclaimed seasons of Mexico, One Plate at a Time, a public TV series hosted by Rick Bayless. For Food Network, he wrote Mario Eats Italy, 25 programs featuring Mario Batali, shot in Italy. He also collaborated on two James Beard Award-winning seasons of Yan Can Cook and has written for four other national cooking shows.
He lives and eats in Berkeley and a tiny hilltown in Italy.
