Great Gatherings
When Macy’s asked Book Kitchen to develop a high-style cookbook showcasing its superstar chef’s council, we proposed a theme of entertaining, featuring each of the 16 chefs in their own themed party, with recipes and tips on food, mood, drinks, and music—all brought to life in beautiful location and food photography.
We worked with the chefs to gather, test, and edit more than 100 recipes, conducted extensive interviews to write each chapter, and oversaw the creative direction of the book. We developed a stunning contemporary design and scouted, cast, and produced 16 location shoots, featuring food and lifestyle images. We took the job through print production, delivering 30,000 finished books to Macy’s for national distribution on time and on budget.

“It’s a cool concept. Readers get to graze on a chef’s party platter without having to invest in, say, an entire Todd English or Tyler Florence title. The 100-plus recipes are concise and easy to follow, and Maren Caruso’s vivid photography really pops off the page.”
