Spaghettata

Rastrello is an exquisitely curated boutique hotel in Panicale, a medieval hilltown in Umbria, that has been called one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Once a month, the hotel’s restaurant welcomes guests and locals for a spaghettata—a pasta dinner—featuring recipes from a local grandmother.

When the hotel asked Book Kitchen to turn those treasured nonna recipes into a book, we responded with an enthusiastic “sì!” We proposed a handsome, heavily illustrated, highly giftable cookbook that would appeal to hotel guests and complement the Rastrello line of extra virgin olive oil and specialty foods. Along with recipes for the region’s favorite pastas, this beautiful tribute to a magical town and its beloved elders also includes traditional local desserts, along with tips, techniques, and tidbits of nonna wisdom.
